All I can say is that some people must be hard to please! Everything about this resort is outstanding. Fantastic staff, beautiful rooms and awesome day spa/massages on the beach. We loved every moment. |

We were very happy with our stays at The Dewa, the room were nicely decorated, good sized facing the pool. We were greeted during check in with towels and refreshing drinks. Enjoyed a splendid BBQ by the beach and entertained by a singer and band and evening climax was a fire show.
Would stay at this hotel again. |

I really liked this place. Villa we stayed in was great, though sea view would be nice. Breakfast buffet enough to set you up til evening. Thai food was a bit bland, I think catering to those not fond of spice. Western food great. Filipino band on the beach on the evening was a low point for me (do I really need to hear Wonderful Tonight again?) but the other guests seem to be enjoying it. The music from next door was annoying as well, but there are plenty of other places up the beach if you want to get away. Pool is great, design, decor excellent. |

We've chosen the Dewa for its beach location, not too far from the ferry pier (15-20 min drive), and it's being medium sized. The hotel hasn't disappointed us, the beach is nice though the sand is far from powder white like in the other islands along the same coast, but the water was very nice and clear.
The hotel is stylish, tropical modern, with a big nice pool ( but the pool is rather secluded within the property, rather away from the beach.) We were upgraded from Delux to Cottage rooms which are closer to the beach but perhaps smaller. We found the round cottage interior a little odd, the bathroom has got space though, nice tub and a separate shower area- but lighting was rather dark. The curtain was in the red & gold shades like a theatre which has made the whole atmosphere a little off.
Both the massage service at the beach and at the spa were good. Free wifi is a bog plus, works well both in our rooms and the beach. |

Great hotel at a nice piece of beach in a quiet area of koh chang. Really urban rooms and nice looking pool as well. Great service and friendly staff. |

We where here for 8 days, after travelling through Thailand, 2 adults and 2 kids 11 and 13 Years. The hotel is so clean, service is more than perfect, beautiful (small) private beach, very nice barbeque on the beach, enough beds and chairs on the modern swimmingpool and on the beach. Everything was as we say in Holland: PERFECT!!
Really amazing in the rooms: homeshoes, swimmingshoes etc etc. Every evening a snack in the room, perfect massages (also on the beach of the hotel). Location: very quiet - perfect!! in 15 min. in White Sand Beach and walking in 5-10 min. to restaurants and shops (a few). Ko Chang is a paradise for us, we will come back. Fam. Beerents |

I am a travel photographer and writer for several of Scandinavia's travel publications. In other words, compared to most folk, I constantly experience a wide range of hotels around the world. I know, it's a tough job...
Anyway, I was recently invited to visit Koh Chang (located roughly 300 km from Bangkok, near the border to Cambodia) and as it was my first time there, I was hoping to find a hotel that would provide a good base camp for my excursions around the island.
There isn't an abundance of fancy resorts or plush luxury hotels on Koh Chang. The hotel I chose was The Dewa on the south end of Klong Prao Beach. The Dewa is a design hotel in a quiet environment that combines stylish room decoration with functionality in a thoughtful way.
The Dewa is small enough for the kind of friendly, personal service I enjoy โ€“ yet still offers a sizable pool (with classy gray tiles), a wide range of spa treatments and an excellent beachfront restaurant and bar. The beach is perhaps not the most beautiful I've ever seen, but is still nice and clean. On the other hand, the sunsets you get are absolutely world class.
So, if you're not a hippie-esque bungalow backpacker traveler and like me, detest all-inclusive ginormous package resorts, then The Dewa is your best choice on Koh Chang. |
